Morning Worship

What is it like?

A range of styles from traditional to contemporary

When is it?

Sunday mornings 10:30am

The following information applies from September 2019, please see notices for arrangements during August 2019.

Our 10.30 Morning Service is where the majority of the Church family come together to worship.

On the first and third Sundays of the month there are three service choices.

Join the congregation in the Sanctuary for a traditional service which will start with hymns,  prayers and Bible reading.  Remain in the Sanctuary to hear a sermon from one of our two ministers Rev Philip Peacock or Rev Louise Gough or an accredited local preacher or visiting minister, followed by more worship and prayer.

After the opening worship the leader of the traditional service will offer the choice to move into one of the side rooms where the Reflect group meet.  Here you can  discuss the theme of the service over a cup of tea or coffee in a more relaxed setting.

Connect  is an informal service taking place in the Coffee Lounge alongside our existing traditional worship.   It is a service for everyone, adults and families with children often including videos, songs, discussions, quizzes and puzzles and maybe the odd silly game.  Join us from 10 am for drinks and toast before the service.

On the second Sunday we have a traditional service followed by Holy Communion. Children, whether they attend often or are visiting, are welcome to join Young Church for games, songs, drama and crafts based on a Bible story. Young Church may join the congregation in the Sanctuary for the first part of worship or meet initially in room 6 and share something of their explorations when they join the main congregation at the end of the service.

On the fourth Sunday  we invite the whole church family to our All Together service. The interactive service contains elements to challenge and include those of all ages and stages of faith. A table at the back of the church also has children’s activities normally related to the service theme.

On fifth Sundays we sometimes run two services, traditional worship in the Sanctuary and Connect in the coffee lounge or, from time to time, combine for a more contemporary approach to worship beginning in the Sanctuary but using other parts of the building too.

We have a selection of toys, books and colouring activities available for young children at the back of the church. If you would like a bag for your child to use during the service, please ask a Steward who will be happy to provide one for you.

After the service we would love to meet you over tea or coffee which is provided from the hatch by the coffee lounge.
