Evening Worship

What is it like?

Contemporary, with occasional reflective services

When is it?

Sundays, 6:30pm

Our evening service has, for many years, had a relaxed and contemporary style - using many of the more modern songs - and has focused on providing a less formal setting where we can come together to offer our worship to God and hear his word for our lives.

On the first, second and third Sundays of the month the services tend to open with a time of sung worship and prayer, led by one of our worship leaders, followed by an engaging and often challenging talk by the preacher - either from Rev Phil Peacock or other preachers from our own church family or visiting from elsewhere in the circuit.

The sermon is usually followed by a time for response - whether contemplative, or using a creative or symbolic response to help us reflect on how the message we have heard affects us.

Musically, services are led twice a month by our Evening Band, but for a couple of services each quarter, the Singers will bring a more reflective, choral sound, and often use Celtic and Taize material.

Communion is offered, with Prayers for Healing and Wholeness on the first Sunday of the month.

On the fourth Sunday of the month we have recently introduced family friendly informal worship to which all are welcome at the slightly earlier time of 6pm. This may typically include a game, puzzle or quiz activity, worship songs, bible story and explanation of key themes in story.
